About The Position

The Department of International Affairs within the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University, in conjunction with its Washington D.C. Teaching Site, is seeking to hire up to ten (10) open-rank, part-time faculty members for a 9-month term beginning August 2026. The specific faculty title will be determined by the applicant's background, qualifications, and experience, with potential titles including Visiting Lecturer, Visiting Senior Lecturer, Visiting Principal Lecturer, Visiting Instructional Assistant Professor, Visiting Instructional Associate Professor, Visiting Instructional Professor, Visiting Associate Professor of the Practice, or Visiting Professor of the Practice. Successful candidates will be responsible for teaching at both graduate and undergraduate levels, contributing to the development of the International Affairs curriculum, engaging in departmental activities, and serving the profession. Key responsibilities include the organization, delivery, evaluation, and assessment of International Affairs courses and associated student outcomes. Course areas may encompass special topics, Defense Intelligence, required courses in Foreign Policy or International Politics, and international affairs research capstones. The Bush School, founded on the philosophy of public service, is a leading institution in international affairs, political science, and public affairs.

Responsibilities

  • Teach at the graduate and undergraduate level.
  • Provide support for the development of the International Affairs graduate and undergraduate curriculum.

  • Be responsible for the organization, delivery, evaluation, and assessment of the International Affairs courses and student outcomes associated with those courses.
