About The Position
MTC operates the Hawaii Job Corps Center in Waimanalo, Hawaii, where staff provide services to local youth. The Academic Instructor Substitute provides academic instruction using approved curricula, along with training and basic guidance to help students achieve their academic goals. The role is scheduled as needed, Monday through Friday, and pays $144 per day.
Requirements
- An associate's degree and/or a combination of education and experience that provides knowledge or skill to instruct within the designated subject matter.
- A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

- A bachelor's degree and one year of experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide students with basic direction, instruction, and assistance in designated areas of instruction.
- Administer and correct tests and maintain progress and attendance reports.
- Assist in developing community linkages and volunteers for the department.
- Take accountability each period and promptly report student absences.
- Participate in student assessment panels and complete required documentation and evaluations using CIS (Center Information System) and other documentation systems.
