About The Position

A well-established academic healthcare organization is seeking a fellowship-trained, Board-Eligible/Board-Certified Geriatric Psychiatrist to join a growing psychiatry and behavioral health division. This position offers a balanced mix of clinical care, teaching, and academic involvement within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The practice setting is academic with opportunities for teaching and scholarly activity. Responsibilities include a combination of inpatient and outpatient duties, working with geriatric patients in both clinic and hospital settings. There is an opportunity to participate in or lead the development of a geriatric psychiatry fellowship program and to develop and expand consultation services for nursing facilities. The role involves collaboration with neuropsychology and multidisciplinary support teams. The standard schedule is Monday-Friday, daytime hours with shared call responsibilities. A strong support structure including resident coverage is in place.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of psychiatry residency
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry
  • Eligible for or able to obtain state medical license
  • Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based, multidisciplinary environment

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of fellowship training in Geriatric Psychiatry
  • Interest in academic medicine, teaching, or program development

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for geriatric patients.
  • Manage care across inpatient, outpatient, and consultative settings.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and social workers.
  • Participate in teaching medical students, residents, and/or fellows.
  • Engage in program development, quality improvement, and/or research activities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Adhere to all regulatory, ethical, and organizational standards.
