Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Three years of academic counseling experience
Must be available to work evenings and weekends
Some travel is required.
A successful DMV background check is required for this position.
An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may be substituted.

Responsibilities

Direct day-to-day academic counseling responsibilities for athletic programs including course scheduling, academic progress monitoring, individual academic counseling, and NCAA certification/continuing eligibility for assigned teams.
Meet regularly with coaching staff on matters pertaining to student-athlete success.
Oversee the admissions process for assigned student-athletes, working directly with the Office of Admissions.
Assist with the Student-Athlete orientation and welcome days program that will complement the University of St. Thomas freshman transition process.
Meet with prospective student-athletes (PSA) for assigned teams during official and unofficial visits.
Create programming specific to each PSA and present information related to the University of St. Thomas’ academic programs, procedures and resources.
Maintain thorough records of assigned student-athletes progress towards degree, attrition information and expected graduation dates to project, track, and report on APR and GSR Data.
Additional duties as assigned.
