CLIN AST/ASO/FULL PROF - Academic Breast Surgical Pathologist
About The Position
The Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville invites applications for a non-tenure-track faculty appointment as an academic Breast Surgical Pathologist. The breast pathology service is part of the UF Health Breast Center, a National Center of Excellence in Breast Cancer accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. The center provides interdisciplinary care, and the UF Health System offers a diverse range of inpatient and outpatient clinical material and consultations. The successful candidate will provide breast pathology sign-out and participate in tumor boards and clinical conferences, as well as general frozen-section and anatomic pathology call coverage. Service in other surgical pathology subspecialties is available and encouraged. The position also contributes to medical student, resident, and fellow education in accredited Pathology programs. Scholarly study and investigation in the candidate’s area of interest are expected. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Board certification in Anatomic Pathology.
- Possess or be eligible for a Florida Medical license.
- Subspecialty fellowship training or extensive experience in Breast pathology.
Responsibilities
- Provide sign-out for breast pathology cases.
- Participate in breast pathology tumor boards and clinical conferences.
- Provide general frozen-section and anatomic pathology call coverage.
- Contribute to medical student, resident, and fellowship training in accredited Pathology programs.
- Conduct scholarly study and investigation in an area of interest.
- Consider service in other surgical pathology subspecialties, which is available and encouraged.
