The University of Florida seeks a Chief for its Division of Hematology & Oncology. The Division is an academic division dedicated to advancing prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer and blood disorders through patient care, research, and medical education. It includes more than 40 clinical faculty members and 15 fellows across Medical Oncology, Classical Hematology, and Hematologic Malignancy, Transplant and Cellular Therapy. Its services span solid tumors, benign and malignant blood disorders, and complex hematologic malignancies, including transplant and cellular therapies. The latter program has achieved FACT reaccreditation across all aspects of the program. Division faculty lead and participate in clinical and translational research across solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, transplantation, and cellular therapy, in collaboration with the University of Florida Health Cancer Institute (UFHCI). UFHCI is Florida’s only NCI-designated cancer institute based at a public university. Across the institute, nearly 1,000 subjects enroll annually in interventional cancer clinical trials. The Division also supports education and mentorship, including an expanding fellowship program that plans to introduce an MSTP fellowship in FY28. The Chief will establish and implement a strategic vision advancing the Division’s research, clinical, educational, and faculty-development missions. The role includes building a program of NIH-funded investigators, maintaining an independently funded research program, strengthening clinical and training programs, partnering with UFHCI leadership, and providing administrative and fiscal stewardship. The University of Florida is a public research university with six health colleges and an integrated academic health center. UF Health Shands Hospital is a quaternary referral hospital, and faculty have access to a broad research ecosystem, including an NIH Clinical and Translational Science Institute and disease-focused centers. Salary is negotiable and commensurate with education and experience; academic rank and tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications. Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae and cover letter describing research accomplishments and funding history, leadership and mentoring experience, and their vision for building a collaborative program of NIH-funded investigators. Three letters of recommendation are also requested. A final candidate must provide an official transcript upon hire; foreign degrees require evaluation by a NACES-approved credentialing service. A health assessment is required.
