About The Position

The School of Pharmacy is seeking an Academic Advisor to guide students through complex academic decisions, manage student records, and develop programming to support student success. This role is crucial for identifying and assisting students at risk of academic challenges, ensuring they achieve their academic, personal, and professional goals. The position also involves supervising and providing direction to Academic Advisor I roles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3 years of relevant experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, processes, and responds to academic inquiries, escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Serves as a primary contact for students identified as retention risks, offering guidance on educational options, academic requirements, and institutional resources.
  • Counsels students on aligning their interests, skills, and values with suitable fields of study and career paths, referring them to appropriate campus resources.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and accuracy of student records in accordance with program policies.
  • Develops, plans, and implements academic advising programs, including workshops, panel discussions, and guest speaker events.
  • Provides leadership, guidance, and supervision to Academic Advisor I positions.
