About The Position

The Academic Advisor in the School of Nursing & Health Innovations (SONHI) serves students by providing comprehensive and focused advising support to help them meet degree requirements and achieve academic success. This role's primary responsibilities include recruitment, admissions, transcript credit reviews, registering students, advising students on curriculum and degree requirements, monitoring progress towards degree completion, and referring students to appropriate departmental and University resources. Academic Advisors collaborate with campus partners, faculty, and academic departments to ensure timely and accurate information is provided to support student success. The Academic Advisors in SONHI are the primary point of contact for Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) students within SONHI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in academic advising or a related student services role.

Responsibilities

  • Serve students by providing comprehensive and focused advising support to meet degree requirements and achieve academic success.
  • Handle recruitment and admissions processes.
  • Conduct transcript credit reviews.
  • Register students for courses.
  • Advise students regarding curriculum and degree requirements.
  • Monitor student progress towards degree completion.
  • Refer students to departmental and University resources.
  • Collaborate with campus partners, faculty, and academic departments to ensure timely and accurate information in support of student success.
  • Act as the primary interface for Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) students within SONHI.
