About The Position

Academic Advising provides the foundation upon which a student develops his or her academic plan. The academic advisor will assist the director of academic advising in all aspects of advising, including retaining students, clarifying educational goals, planning academic coursework, providing additional campus resources and understanding university policies. Academic advisors collaborate with other administrators, faculty chairs, and faculty advisors in support of student success. This position provides academic, financial aid, and career counseling to students, guiding them in the development of their academic, career and life goals. Requirements

  • Master’s degree
  • Minimum two years of advising experience in a higher education setting
  • Knowledge of contemporary sociological, psychological and academic problems faced by students
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite, Peoplesoft, Navigate 360, Canvas, and OnBase
