About The Position
Mizuho’s Banking Americas ABS Origination team is part of the Securitized Products Origination team and is based in New York. The team originates, markets, and executes public and private primary-market ABS offerings for the Bank’s US clients, partnering with Banking Americas relationship coverage teams and Mizuho’s Securitization Products team. Its work spans consumer and commercial asset classes, including automobile and equipment loans, leases and floorplan; consumer and commercial credit cards; student and personal loans; solar loans and leases; home improvement loans; handset receivables; and other assets. Clients include captive and independent financial companies, banks, and corporations in the US and abroad. The team collaborates with analytics, trading, sales, syndicate, derivatives, corporate banking, and investment banking professionals. The Associate will engage deeply in deal and pitching activities across the client base and support all aspects of new-issue origination and execution.
Requirements
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Mizuho does not provide work visa or employment-based immigration sponsorship for this position.
Responsibilities
- Support all aspects of ABS new-issue origination and execution for Mizuho’s clients.
- Provide clients with updates on market pricing, news, and trends, and explain how these affect their access to markets.
- Work with trading and syndicate desks on rate views, product management, and deal execution.
- Prepare client presentations and other materials.
- Analyze collateral using Excel, Intex, CAS, and VBA across different asset pools, including auto loans and leases, credit cards, student loans, and equipment loans and leases.
- Develop rating-agency materials and presentations to support transaction ratings.
- Review structuring models and prepare transaction analytics.
- Develop materials for sales and syndication processes.
- Respond to investor inquiries and aggregate investor feedback.
- Conduct company, industry, and asset research.
- Develop advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and ABS modeling skills.
- Participate in client meetings.
