Behavior Technician / Behavioral Specialist
About The Position
The Behavior Lab is a home-, clinic-, school-, and community-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy company serving children with autism and other developmental or behavioral challenges. The company uses individualized, play-based therapy to help children develop meaningful skills, confidence, independence, and success in everyday life. The Behavior Technician works one-on-one with children to teach communication, social, play, and daily living skills while supporting positive behavior change. With guidance and mentorship from the clinical team, the technician creates learning opportunities through play, connection, and encouragement. The position is part-time, in-person, and based in home and community settings, with sessions also taking place in clinics and schools. Paid training and ongoing support are provided. Compensation is $19.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Genuine passion for working with children.
- Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills.
- Dependable and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
- Organized, tech-savvy, and eager to learn.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including afternoons and evenings.
- Positive attitude and willingness to make a difference.
Nice To Haves
- College coursework in psychology, education, child development, or a related field.
- Prior ABA experience is not required; paid training and ongoing support are provided.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one ABA therapy sessions in home, clinic, school, or community settings.
- Make learning engaging through play-based and interactive activities.
- Support children in reaching individualized goals and celebrate their progress.
- Collect data and document skill development and behaviors.
- Collaborate with families and team members to promote consistency and success.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet each child's strengths and needs.
