Requirements

  • Dependable
  • Curious about technology

  • Comfortable learning new software and devices
  • Planning to pursue graduate study in speech-language pathology

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with AAC is helpful but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain AAC and assistive technology hardware and software in the lab.
  • Set up and maintain iPads and other technology, including installing and updating applications.
  • Develop familiarity with a variety of AAC applications and systems and assist others in learning to use these tools.
  • Provide basic technology support to students and others using the AAC lab.
  • Collaborate, as appropriate, with occupational therapy students and other students working in the lab.
  • Assist with research activities related to AAC and assistive technology.
  • Support lab outreach, demonstrations, and educational activities.
  • Help maintain an organized, accessible, and functional lab environment.
