About The Position

The Accounts Receivable Specialist handles multiple aspects of the accounts receivable function, including collecting receivable balances, applying customer payments, and invoicing shipped orders. The role involves interaction with other corporate business units and reports to the Accounts Receivable Manager.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 3 years of Accounts Receivable experience.
Strong customer-service-oriented background.
Experience with multiple facets of Accounts Receivable and Commercial Credit and Collections.
Organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, persistent, and goal-driven.
Professional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with people inside and outside the company.
Experience with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting.
Prior experience with JD Edwards or SAP.
Experience working with larger national retail customers.

Responsibilities

Collect customer accounts receivable balances, focusing on large-balance and key accounts.
Research and resolve account discrepancies and deductions through communication with customers, Sales, Customer Service, and other functional areas.
Approve credit for new orders.
Apply cash receipts and credit documents, and process unapplied cash.
Process ACH auto-debit transactions.
Process daily billing for shipped orders.
Process new customer credit applications and customer reactivations.
Prepare monthly reporting on assigned customer records.
Identify credit risk using customer payment habits, market data, and industry trade reports, and inform the Director.
Process audit requests.
Initiate refunds of credit balances.
Coordinate between the Credit Team and Master Data Team to set up new customers and maintain customer master data records as required.
Monitor and maintain team email accounts.
Complete other projects and assignments as needed.
