To serve the public by answering calls for emergency and non-emergency assistance and dispatching the appropriate personnel, equipment, and units in accordance with the location and nature of the call. We are seeking flexible, multi-tasking individuals who can assess the priority for fire, police, and emergency medical services through exceptional listening and problem-solving skills. Employees must be able to manage intense, stressful situations. You may be the most important person they will never see! Under general supervision, carries out full-performance level work in operating radio, CAD terminal, and other communications equipment necessary for the efficiency and safety of emergency response personnel and the general public. Receives, responds, transmits, answers, and/or verifies messages and/or inquiries received via communications equipment. Work is performed under the supervision of a 911 Shift Supervisor and in accordance with established rules and procedures.
