The Prince William County Department of Public Safety Communications is seeking a motivated and technically skilled professional to serve as a 9-1-1 Systems Administrator. This role is crucial for supporting the County’s Call Handling Equipment (CHE), voice-related networks, and telephony systems used in the 9-1-1 Center. The administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and planning for these critical systems, including the voice logging environment and databases related to call routing and processing. The position involves coordinating with vendors, contractors, and carriers, preparing required reporting, and providing planning recommendations to leadership. The successful candidate will collaborate with IT professionals, public safety specialists, County leadership, and vendors to ensure high-availability call delivery and processing. This role also contributes to the development and support of other 9-1-1 and public safety technologies within the County’s mission-critical environment. A key aspect of this role will be managing the transition to a modernized Call Handling Equipment system.
