About The Position
Varen, an SAIC company is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to join our team. This position is located in Suitland, MD and requires an active TS/SCI with polygraph to be considered.
Requirements
- Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
- TS/SCI with polygraph
- Possesses expertise in 1 or more operating systems, experienced with configuration, patch management, version and sub-version upgrades.
Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility for server operations, inclusive of hardware, operating systems, and utilities on the servers.
- Install, configure, maintain server and desktop operating systems, databases, and other software applications.
- Monitor server and network systems and facilities.
- Ensure high quality transmission on the network.
- Direct testing and analysis of system elements, including communications networks, hardware devices, software, power, communications, lines, modems, and terminals.
- Perform troubleshooting.
- Install hardware and software.
- Perform backups, database administration and file recovery.
- Optimize system operations and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
- Assist users in resolving IT needs.
