About The Position

The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for administering, maintaining, supporting, and improving the company’s server, virtualization, cloud, identity, communications, backup, endpoint management, and related infrastructure systems. This project-focused role requires independent execution, clear documentation, reliable communication, and consistent progress on assigned initiatives.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, certification, and work experience.
  • Minimum of 4 to 5 years of progressive hands-on, multi-aspect systems administration experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft 365, virtualization, identity management, backup/recovery, SQL support, PowerShell, endpoint management, and mobile device management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex system, application, network, user access, and infrastructure issues.
  • Ability to work independently, manage assigned projects, and provide regular progress updates.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and support requests.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be reliable and able to maintain regular onsite attendance.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting, documentation, communication, collaboration, prioritization, customer service, process improvement, and independent project execution skills.

  • Experience supporting iPECS phone systems or similar business communications platforms.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Teams Rooms, NEAT Teams room devices, and conference room technology.
  • Experience supporting APC battery backup systems.
  • Experience supporting camera monitoring systems such as ExactVision or similar platforms.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, regulated, GMP, or business-critical production environments.
  • Experience working with vendors and third-party support providers.
  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Administrator, Azure Administrator Associate, Nutanix Certified Professional, Veeam Certified Engineer, CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Network+, or related certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot, and support Microsoft Windows Server operating systems and associated core infrastructure services.
  • Support and maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, print services, certificate services, and other related Microsoft server administration functions.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and document server-based applications, services, infrastructure components, changes, and recovery steps.
  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 services and related applications used by company staff.
  • Support user access, licensing, mail flow, collaboration tools, security settings, and application configuration within Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Support Microsoft 365 and other cloud-based systems, coordinating with vendors and business units to maintain availability, configuration, security, and user support.
  • Support the Nutanix virtualization environment, including virtual server provisioning, monitoring, troubleshooting, resource review, and general platform administration.
  • Support virtualization, storage, compute, capacity, lifecycle planning, and platform maintenance activities required for reliable business operations.
  • Administer and support identity management systems, including platforms such as PingID and Okta.
  • Support user provisioning, authentication, access controls, SSO, MFA, and related identity processes.
  • Assist with access reviews, account audits, security group management, and user lifecycle management.
  • Troubleshoot authentication issues and ensure identity and access management practices align with IT security best practices and company policy requirements.
  • Administer, monitor, support, and test the Veeam backup environment.
  • Support Quantum disk and tape backup appliances, including backup job monitoring, media management, error review, and recovery testing.
  • Perform backup verification, restore testing, disaster recovery planning, documentation, and corrective action follow-up for backup failures.
  • Perform regular Windows Server patching using established processes and custom PowerShell scripts.
  • Review, maintain, document, and improve PowerShell scripts used for patching, administration, reporting, automation, and remediation.
  • Provide basic to intermediate SQL database administration and support.
  • Assist with database backups, restores, maintenance tasks, permissions, monitoring, performance review, and troubleshooting.
  • Work with application owners and vendors to support SQL-backed systems and resolve database-related issues.
  • Support the iPECS phone system and related connections, services, devices, and integrations.
  • Troubleshoot phone system issues, coordinate vendor support, and assist with system changes or configuration updates.
  • Administer and support Microsoft Teams conference room and NEAT Teams room devices, including configuration, troubleshooting, updates, user support, and reliability testing.
  • Administer and support ManageEngine Endpoint Central for endpoint patching, software deployment, inventory, reporting, and device management.
  • Support mobile device management, endpoint security, patch compliance, device standards, policy enforcement, and related troubleshooting.
  • Support APC battery backup devices, including monitoring, testing, alert review, and coordination of maintenance or replacement activities.
  • Support APC server room air handler monitoring and coordinate vendor support when alerts warrant investigation.
  • Support the ExactVision camera monitoring system and related software, including troubleshooting, user support, and vendor coordination when required.
  • Assist with systems that support physical security, facilities technology, and infrastructure reliability.
  • Independently manage assigned infrastructure projects from planning through completion.
  • Develop project plans, track progress, communicate status, document outcomes, and implement technologies that improve security, reliability, supportability, and efficiency.
  • Provide escalation support for Helpdesk tickets involving infrastructure, servers, cloud systems, identity management, endpoint tools, conference room technology, and other supported platforms.
  • Collaborate with Helpdesk staff, users, IT team members, management, and vendors to resolve escalated issues and improve support processes.
  • Follow IT security and change management best practices when administering systems, managing access, applying patches, supporting cloud applications, and making configuration changes.
  • Assist with audits, system reviews, access reviews, vulnerability remediation, and policy compliance activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect company systems, data, and technology assets.
