About The Position

Otsego Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and hard-working 7th Grade Middle School Boys Basketball Coach to join its athletic staff for the winter season. The coach will be responsible for training team members, evaluating skills, coordinating logistics, and maintaining knowledge of relevant regulations. The role emphasizes teaching the game of basketball while fostering positive character traits in athletes.

Responsibilities

• Coach and train team members on techniques.
• Select extended staff and team members.
• Evaluate skills of team members.
• Coordinate logistics for events.
• Maintain knowledge of laws or regulations.
• Maintain inventories of materials, equipment, or products.
• Coordinate practice plans to build basic basketball knowledge and age-appropriate skill sets.
• Be a productive and cohesive coach on a staff that works to develop all players from grades 6-12.
• Teach and instruct the game of basketball, while working to develop and emphasize positive character traits in all athletes.
