About The Position

Hamilton County Schools is seeking a student-focused 5th Grade Teacher to help students thrive and achieve a future without limits. The teacher plans, delivers, and assesses effective instruction aligned to Tennessee state standards; designs engaging lessons with clear objectives and measurable outcomes; and differentiates instruction to meet learners’ needs. The role also involves collaborating with colleagues and support staff, building respectful relationships with students and families, maintaining a structured classroom, and participating in professional development and reflection. The district emphasizes high expectations, academic achievement, strong classroom management, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and continuous growth. Experience in Title I or high-need school settings is a plus. The position requires a bachelor’s degree and either a valid Tennessee Elementary Education (K-5) teaching license or current enrollment in an accredited teacher preparation program. Starting salary is $50,000, with the salary scale based on education and experience. Eligible positions may qualify for additional pay under the Differentiated Compensation Plan. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.
Valid Tennessee teaching license in Elementary Education (K-5), or current enrollment in an accredited teacher preparation program.
