About The Position

Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of a team that solves some of the world's most complex technical challenges. We are seeking a 5G Network Engineer Lead to join our team in support of the Army TEN-M program. This is a remote position and requires 25% to 50% travel; you must reside within a 50-mile radius of a major airport.

Requirements

  • BS/BA Degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • 15+ years of network engineering experience with emphasis on 5G technologies and understanding of the duties as described above
  • 5+ years of technical leadership experience
  • Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Performs network engineering in support of IT infrastructure, including fiber‑optic systems, government networks, private 5G, expeditionary environments, and Low‑SWaP technologies, integrating these capabilities into a unified solution.
  • Collaborates with key leads across 5G, cybersecurity, and fiber/network domains to design cohesive platforms.
  • Adheres to established standards, processes, and policies.
  • Provides architecture, engineering, and security support for IT infrastructure, as well as installation, configuration, administration, operations and maintenance, and overall operational availability for infrastructure, applications, user desktops, and mission IT systems.
  • Supports planning, system architecture development, installation, configuration, O&M, documentation, and engineering activities for network services.
  • Maintains and supports network and telecommunications components, including switches, routers, firewalls, and related equipment.
  • Delivers configuration management in alignment with policies and procedures, using configuration management systems to record, track, monitor, and update configurations, configuration items, changes, and associated assets.
  • Oversees network architecture, integration strategy, interoperability planning, technical risk management, validation methodologies, and operational readiness.
  • Reviews engineering deliverables, approves implementation standards, supports issue escalation and resolution, and coordinates technical engagement with Government stakeholders and vendor teams.
