About The Position

ACCEL Schools is hiring a 4th Grade Teacher at STEAM Academy of Warrensville Heights in Warrensville Heights, Ohio. The role is focused on providing a superior education, bringing the curriculum to life, and fostering a positive classroom environment that supports student learning and social-emotional development. STEAM Academy of Warrensville Heights is an award-winning public charter school serving EK–8th grade students. Founded in 2015, it has a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math focus and is part of ACCEL Schools, a network of public charter schools serving K–12 students. The teacher prepares and delivers instruction, supports student progress and behavior, communicates with families, and collaborates with colleagues. The salary range is $41,000–$50,500. Starting pay within the range may depend on factors including geography or market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.

Requirements

Active and current Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area.
Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
Comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment involving frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to properly manage confidential information.
Ability to supervise students of various ages in different school settings, including playgrounds and cafeterias.
Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
Experience working within an urban environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and deliver lesson plans, modifying them as appropriate during the school year.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
Use research-based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction.
Manage student behavior in the classroom.
Create a positive classroom environment for students to learn in.
Use school-approved curricula that reflect students’ diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.
Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms.
Communicate and meet with families regarding their child’s academic and social-emotional growth.
Incorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice to support learning.
Participate in planning and implementing non-instructional activities, as needed.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
