About The Position
Wintergreen Interdistrict Magnet School is seeking a transformative 4th grade educator. The school’s vision is to provide a safe and nurturing environment that immerses students in the arts, grounds them in restorative behaviors, and engages their minds to support academic and personal success. Grade-level teams collaborate to plan content and build skills for examining themes across subject areas. The ideal candidate is familiar with restorative practices, science instruction, and arts integration. Educators with professional backgrounds in the arts, project-based learning, social-emotional learning, and/or STEAM education would be a strong addition to the program. Wintergreen’s mission emphasizes educating the whole child and preparing students to create, collaborate, communicate, and discover their passions through innovation and the arts.
Requirements
- CT State Certification endorsement 013, 305, or 229 is required.
- Strong teaching qualities, care deeply for children, and good classroom management and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with restorative practices, science instruction, and arts integration.
Nice To Haves
- Professional background in the arts, project-based learning, social-emotional learning, and/or STEAM education.
- Experience teaching elementary or middle-grade students and a proven record of instructing diverse learners.
