About The Position

This role is located at 5401 Tabor Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19120 (Northeast Philadelphia).

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in mathematics education or a related field is typically required.
Obtaining a state teaching certification or license for middle school mathematics is necessary for public school teachers.
Strong mathematical knowledge.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Classroom management abilities.
Adaptability are essential.

Responsibilities

Instructing students in mathematical concepts and skills.
Developing lesson plans.
Assessing student progress.
Creating a positive learning environment.
Managing classroom behavior.
Collaborating with other educators and parents.
A strong understanding of 5th-grade math curriculum standards, including concepts like fractions, decimals, measurement, geometry, and algebraic thinking.
Proficiency in mathematical concepts and problem-solving strategies relevant to the 5th-grade level.
Knowledge of effective teaching strategies for diverse learners, including those with special needs.
Familiarity with various assessment techniques to evaluate student learning and inform instruction.
Ability to create a positive and structured learning environment.
Effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
Ability to use technology to enhance math instruction and engagement.
