About The Position

Ohr Torah Cincinnati (OTC) is an independent Jewish school serving toddlers through eighth grade. They focus on fostering a love for learning and an appreciation for learning across all subject areas. OTC provides a carefully planned, stimulating, and structured learning environment with an integrated curriculum across Judaic and General Studies. Their approach builds student independence and honors the innate yearning for discovery. OTC is expanding and seeking a highly qualified teacher for their 4th-6th grade boys' program. Teachers at OTC are given significant autonomy to be creative, innovative, and passionate, with a strong focus on the needs of this age group. The ideal candidate will execute a student-centered, project-based, innovative program and possess a flexible mindset. This is a part-time position, with the teacher working Monday through Friday for 5 hours a day (10:00 AM - 3:00 PM).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field required
  • Experience working with adolescents
  • Team player with strong collaborative and communication skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn, with the ability to take direction well

  • Master's degree in Education or a related field is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Craft, internalize, and implement high-quality, challenging, and engaging lesson plans using provided curriculum resources to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
  • Review student data individually and with administration to plan for re-teaching and follow-up lessons.
  • Develop individualized learning plans for students and communicate these plans to families in parent meetings and conferences.
  • Collaborate with the team to promote an environment of critical thinking and academic rigor.
  • Build a classroom culture that empowers students, affirms their identities, and creates a sense of belonging for all.
  • Implement school-wide and classroom management policies and practices.
  • Create a responsive and inclusive environment for parents and families.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with students and families based on trust and respect.
  • Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and team meetings.
  • Participate in the daily functions of the school, including morning, mid-day, and afternoon supervisory duties.
  • Embrace and incorporate feedback in the spirit of continuous improvement.
  • Meet professional obligations including timeliness and consistency in meeting deadlines.
