About The Position

Aspen Academy is seeking an exceptional 4th Grade Math Teacher to join their team for the 26-27 school year. The role involves cultivating students’ curiosity, engagement, growth, and performance in academic, intellectual, social, and emotional domains. Teachers are expected to set empathetic limits, encourage natural consequences, and foster responsible decision-making in a supportive environment. The ideal candidate is a competent, compassionate, creative, dedicated, and enthusiastic professional committed to their own growth and improvement, possessing strong instructional pedagogy, content expertise, excellent communication skills (written and verbal), and strengths in time management, organization, social-emotional intelligence, and cultural competency. The position is full-time and onsite, located in the southern metro area of Denver, Colorado. Aspen Academy focuses on Next Generation education, equipping students with life skills, igniting personal passions, and preparing them through a unique Leadership, Finance, and Entrepreneurship (LiFE) program. Small class sizes and a community focus foster strong relationships.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.
Evidence of content mastery.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to igniting curiosity, and making learning fun and challenging.
Agility, adaptability and a high degree of change-readiness.
Proficient use of computer software, Google Suite and learning management systems (Blackbaud preferred).
Grant permission for a criminal background check upon hire.
Meet physical demands to perform essential functions of the role.
Ability to work full-time, including occasional evenings and weekends; work in person/in the school building; speak for long periods of time.
Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally life up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree.
Teaching certification
3-5 years classroom experience.
Preferred experience with Singapore Math.
A passion for Next Generation learning.

Responsibilities

Communicate learning goals and feedback, establish rules and procedures; help students interact, practice and deepen new knowledge, and generate and test hypotheses; engage students; recognize adherence to norms and procedures; establish and maintain effective relationships with students; communicate high expectations for all students.
Create and maintain a classroom environment aligned with “Love and Logic” Principles.
Serve as Leadership, Finance, Entrepreneurship (LiFE) Coach: Execute engaging lessons daily, evaluate lesson efficacy, integrate LiFE themes into the core curriculum, and lead impactful programs to develop strong Leadership, Finance, and Entrepreneurship skills in students.
Ensure effective scaffolding of learning, practice, and mastery of these skills in yourself and your students.
Plan and prepare for lessons and units, resources and technology, needs of neurodiverse learners and differentiated learning styles, implementation of culturally responsive classrooms.
Communicate proactively, positively and consistently with students, parents, teammates, and our community, fostering a collaborative and supportive community.
Evaluate personal performance as well as develop and implement a professional growth plan.
Champion a positive environment; promote an exchange of ideas and strategies; promote our school and its community’s development.
