About The Position

The 4th Grade ELA/Social Studies Teacher will guide students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth and maturation. This role involves creating an effective learning environment, planning curriculum in cooperation with administration, and maintaining open communication with students and parents regarding academic and behavioral progress.

Requirements

As set by state certification authorities
Elementary Education certification preferred

Responsibilities

Meets and instructs assigned classes at designated times.
Prepares for assigned classes, reflecting objectives to be achieved.
Creates an effective classroom environment conducive to learning.
Guides the learning process toward curriculum goals.
Establishes and communicates clear learning objectives to students.
Discerns students' needs and refers them to appropriate school personnel.
Works to establish and maintain open communication with students and parents.
Plans curriculum in cooperation with administration to meet individual student needs.
Takes necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
Assists administration in developing and implementing policies.
Attends and participates in faculty and professional activities.
Completes reports and other school-related paperwork.
Accepts responsibility and arrives punctually for assigned activities and duties.
Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with co-workers.
Upgrades professional growth through training, workshops, seminars, conferences, or college classes.
Maintains appropriate emotional control, physical health, and personal appearance.
Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Principal and/or Superintendent.
