About The Position
Xcel Energy is seeking one or more 3rd Step Apprentice / Journeyman Linemen to join their team at the Winona Service Center in Winona, MN. This role involves performing all duties of a Lineman, including work on overhead and underground electric distribution and transmission systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, provide quality customer service, be self-motivated, and possess a positive attitude. Xcel Energy is a leading energy company serving millions of customers across eight states.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Degree/diploma from an accepted Line School.
- Meet driver qualification requirements.
- Possession of a valid Commercial Class A Driver's License.
- Physically capable of performing all aspects of electric overhead and underground distribution construction, operations, and maintenance work.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Presently qualified to be a 3rd Step Apprentice Lineman or higher.
- Self-motivated and possess a positive attitude.
- Demonstrated commitment to work safely and productively.
- Must live within a 20-mile radius of the assigned Service Center.
- Subject to D.O.T. random drug and alcohol testing program.
Responsibilities
- Perform all duties of the Lineman Classification.
- Work on overhead and underground electric distribution and transmission systems.
- Demonstrate a high-level commitment to safety.
- Provide quality customer service.
- Be self-motivated and possess a positive attitude.
- Participate in after-hours emergency call-outs.
- Adhere to cybersecurity policies, standards, and best practices.
