Under close supervision, as an apprentice in training, must be willing and able to perform the less difficult tasks and assist others in high and low voltage line work involved in the construction and maintenance of electric transmission and distribution conductors, structures, underground systems, and related equipment. The role progresses through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year apprentice levels, with increasing responsibilities and required knowledge of company construction specifications. The position requires the ability to perform essential functions of a lineman, including traversing uneven terrain, working in extreme weather, and lifting up to 115 pounds. It also involves working at heights, climbing structures, and performing emergency rescue operations. The role demands sound judgment, adherence to safety rules, and the ability to work up to 16 continuous hours per day, with overtime as necessary. Basic computer tasks, effective communication, stress management, and reliable attendance are also key. This is a Safety Sensitive position requiring a pre-employment Fitness for Duty exam and mandatory drug testing.
