About The Position

Construct, Build and Maintain OH/UG Electric Facilities with primary voltages ranging up to 15KV. This role involves the installation, removal, and maintenance of primary line facilities and secondary services, including transformers, regulators, capacitors, and reclosers. The position requires driving various trucks and operating equipment such as Aerial Bucket and Digger Derrick Trucks. The Journeyman Lineman must be able to read and understand job prints and sketches, recognize materials and their functions, and set and climb poles in various conditions. Availability for on-call duty and emergency response is essential.

Requirements

  • Must live within 20 miles of work location.
  • Ability to use physical strength to perform required tasks in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work irregular hours and out of town assignments as required.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to take and understand directives and complete tasks with limited supervision.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of demonstrated linework experience required.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is a precondition to employment in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Installation, removal and maintenance of OH/UG primary line facilities and secondary services.
  • Installation of OH/UG transformers and the wiring of all types of transformer banks.
  • Installation, including the wiring of regulators, capacitors, and reclosers.
  • Driving of different sizes and types of trucks.
  • Operation of various pieces of equipment, including Aerial Bucket and Digger Derrick Trucks.
  • Read and understand job prints and sketches.
  • Recognize material(s) and their function.
  • Setting and climbing of all sizes of poles in open areas, rear alleys and in energized lines.
  • Be available for on call duty and emergency response.
  • Be particularly alert in observing hazards and avoiding accidents.
  • Be willing and able to attend and take part in safety meetings.
  • Be willing and able to work under unusual surroundings, as well as the normal working conditions pertaining to this job.
  • Be willing and able to receive and transmit orders and instructions in such a manner as to inspire respect and confidence of both superiors and subordinates.
  • Be especially neat, clean and orderly in work and person.
  • Be willing and able to meet the public in a pleasant and tactful manner.
  • Be capable of assuming supervisory responsibilities.
  • Understand importance of always rendering and maintaining first class, courteous service to all customers.
  • Be available to work additional hours, to work in alternate locations, and/or to perform additional duties in connection with storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations as deemed necessary by the company.
