3rd/4th Grade Teacher
About The Position
ACCEL Schools is hiring a 3rd/4th Grade Teacher at Columbus Bilingual Central in Columbus, Ohio. The role is for a passionate and dedicated educator who can bring the curriculum to life, create a positive classroom environment, and prioritize students’ learning and social-emotional development. Columbus Bilingual Central is opening in Fall 2025 and serves students in grades K–5. The school fosters bilingualism, celebrates Latino heritage, and uses a supportive PBIS system and an academic model called Blitz. The teacher prepares and delivers lessons, differentiates instruction, tracks student progress, manages classroom behavior, and uses approved curricula and research-based practices. The role also includes implementing school culture expectations, communicating with families, integrating technology into instruction, collaborating with colleagues, and participating in non-instructional activities as needed.
Requirements
- Active and current Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area.
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
- Comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment involving frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to properly manage confidential information.
- Ability to supervise students of various ages in different school settings, including playgrounds and cafeterias.
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
- Experience working within an urban environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver lesson plans, modifying them as appropriate during the school year.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
- Use research-based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom.
- Create a positive classroom environment for students to learn in.
- Use school-approved curricula that reflect students’ diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.
- Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms.
- Communicate and meet with families regarding students’ academic and social-emotional growth.
- Incorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice to support learning.
- Participate in planning and implementing non-instructional activities as needed.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
