As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a 3D Scanning Technician to join our Cladding Drafting department. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and wants to contribute to meaningful, high-impact projects.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with 3D scanning/LiDAR or comparable 3D surveying tools is required
  • Strong experience processing point cloud data and generating CAD/BIM deliverables
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; working knowledge of FARO Scene, Leica Cyclone, or equivalent scanning software
  • Demonstrated BIM modelling experience (Revit preferred); ability to coordinate scan data into project BIM models
  • Solid understanding of LiDAR workflows, scan planning, and QA/QC best practices
  • Strong ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
  • Detail-oriented with disciplined file and data management habits
  • Tech-savvy, solutions-focused, and adaptable in a fast-paced site environment
  • Excellent communication skills, able to work with both technical staff and field crews
  • Valid BC driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required

Responsibilities

  • Capture highly accurate 3D scans of active construction sites and existing structures using LiDAR or other advanced 3D surveying technologies
  • Plan and execute scanning workflows, including site prep, equipment setup, and scan strategies, to meet project requirements
  • Process and register point cloud data using software such as FARO Scene or Leica Cyclone
  • Translate scan data into precise 2D and 3D models in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar platforms
  • Develop as-built documentation and fabrication-ready drawings from scan data
  • Create and maintain BIM models that align with project requirements and captured data
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure BIM models and drawings accurately reflect field conditions
  • Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and design teams to integrate scan data into workflows
  • Maintain scanning equipment and manage data sets for accuracy, consistency, and traceability
  • Provide reliable site data that enables real-time decision making across project teams
