About The Position

RICK is seeking a 3D Laser Scanning Specialist for The Reality Capture Department in San Diego, CA. This role offers the opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team on significant projects in the San Diego region, focusing on modeling in Revit. As a RICK team member, you will contribute to turning clients' and communities' dreams into reality, learning from industry-leading experts. The company specializes in creating highly accurate 3D as-built models of existing facilities to support rehabilitation and modernization projects for design professionals and contractors. Projects are diverse, including medical centers, retail spaces, tunnels, universities, zoos, stadiums, and public wellbeing facilities like wastewater treatment plants and culturally significant sites. The position primarily involves 3D Revit modeling and assisting the Reality Capture Department with services related to reality capture, data collection, post-processing, and modeling. The goal of modeling is to establish the true geometric alignment, size, and position of built objects, creating a 'digital twin' of existing facilities.

Requirements

BS in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or Structural), Surveying, Construction, Architecture, or minimum equivalent and related work experience of 4 years
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in production modeling (design or construction) using the Autodesk Revit platform and or BIM Coordination using the results of 3D laser scanning/reality capture
Experience may include architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing or fire protection
A basic understanding of the Building Information Modeling (BIM) process is required
Good driving record
Ability to carry 40 lbs of equipment to the jobsite
Travel out of town and overnight is a requirement of this position

Nice To Haves

Experience with 3D Laser Scanning or terrestrial lidar, including field procedures, registration and modeling/compiling with using the Leica Cyclone suite of products
Experience in other technology platforms

Responsibilities

Primarily perform as a 3D Revit modeler
Assist the Reality Capture Department in providing services related to reality capture, data collection, post processing and modeling
Establish the true geometric alignment, size and position of built objects to create the ‘digital twin’ of existing facilities
