The 2nd Shift at Madison Park program provides an opportunity for students throughout the district to access career and technical education instruction out of school hours. This program revives efforts to extend vocational opportunities beyond the Madison Park student population and leverage the resources at Madison Park, which include industry-aligned workspaces with modern facilities and equipment. In this program, students participate in 100 hours of instruction that include safety training, introduction to six building trades, and site visits to various unions. Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides hands-on applied learning experiences that build academic knowledge, problem-solving skills, career readiness skills, and specific technical skills that lead to applicable industry credentialing. The Site Director will be the on-site leader for the 2nd Shift at Madison Program, responsible for its safe and productive operation. This includes attending all program sessions, reviewing syllabi for rigor and framework alignment, ensuring adequate consumables are available to instructors, submitting requisitions for resupply, monitoring student attendance and punctuality, and observing shops to monitor programmatic quality and student engagement.
