About The Position

The 2nd Shift at Madison Park program provides an opportunity for students throughout the district to access career and technical education instruction out of school hours. This program revives efforts to extend vocational opportunities beyond the Madison Park student population and leverage the resources at Madison Park, which include industry-aligned workspaces with modern facilities and equipment. In this program, students participate in 100 hours of instruction that include safety training, introduction to six building trades, and site visits to various unions. Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides hands-on applied learning experiences that build academic knowledge, problem-solving skills, career readiness skills, and specific technical skills that lead to applicable industry credentialing. The Site Director will be the on-site leader for the 2nd Shift at Madison Program, responsible for its safe and productive operation. This includes attending all program sessions, reviewing syllabi for rigor and framework alignment, ensuring adequate consumables are available to instructors, submitting requisitions for resupply, monitoring student attendance and punctuality, and observing shops to monitor programmatic quality and student engagement.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree or demonstrated progress towards it
  • DESE CTE Supervisor/Director or CTE Principal/Assistant Principal license
  • Five years of full-time employment experience in a CTE education setting as an administrator
  • Proven track record of successfully leading CTE programs with measurable student outcomes
  • Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.

  • Fluency in one of BPS' official languages: Spanish, Creole (Cape Verdean), Creole (Haitian), Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, & Somali.

Responsibilities

  • Attend all sessions of the program
  • Review syllabi to ensure rigor and framework alignment
  • Ensure adequate consumables are available to instructors
  • Submit requisitions for resupply of consumables
  • Monitor student attendance and punctuality
  • Observe shops during the program to monitor programmatic quality and student engagement
  • Attend and be the on site leader for all 2nd Shift at Madison sessions (160 hours)
  • Coordinate and monitor communication to students, families, program staff and Apprentice Navigators
  • Supervise preparation for the program (10 hours): Selecting and enrolling students, Creating the schedule, Creating curriculum and lessons, Procuring consumable supplies

Benefits

  • Stipend Amount: $11, 946 BASAS rate, $70.29/ hour, 170 total hours
