About The Position

The 12V Electrician I routes electrical wiring for fire apparatus according to wire diagrams and technical drawings, installs 12V accessories such as sensors and lights, and fabricates boxes, mounts, and other equipment needed to complete installations according to blueprints. The role includes coordinating with fabricators and making wire harnesses as needed. The position is based at Rosenbauer South Dakota in Lyons, South Dakota, and is full-time on the day shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of DC electrical equipment.
• At least 6 months of related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills, or related fields.
• Ability to read and work from blueprints or a specification book.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
• Ability to recognize and follow safety policies.
• Ability to work evenings and/or weekends occasionally as needed to support department needs.

Responsibilities

• Route 12V electrical wires to equipment according to wire diagrams.
• Connect lights, hose reels, and other accessories to electrical boxes.
• Fabricate boxes, mounts, and other equipment required to complete electrical installations according to blueprints.
• Communicate with fabricators to ensure complete installations.
• Fabricate wire harnesses as needed to complete installations.
• Use hand tools, a shear, and a brake press as needed.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet company needs.
