KXTV ABC10 , the TEGNA-owned ABC affiliate in Sacramento, is looking for a full-time Visual Journalist & Storyteller to join the team behind our in-depth, issues-focused program, “To the Point with Alex Bell.” This is a great opportunity for an experienced photojournalist who thrives on collaboration, loves strong storytelling, and wants to help produce compelling longform and investigative content for broadcast and digital audiences. In this role, you’ll help bring important stories to life through powerful visuals, thoughtful editing, and creative production techniques. You’ll work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to daily news coverage while helping shape the look and feel of high-impact journalism across ABC10’s platforms.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in a newsroom environment preferred.
  • BA/BS in journalism, communications, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in photojournalism, editing, and content management systems.
  • Working knowledge of Premiere, Adobe Suite, and Edius.
  • A dependable, flexible team player who can work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and adapt quickly in live, breaking news situations.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills with a positive, collaborative attitude.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., and occasionally up to 80 lbs., with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Shoot and edit news and feature stories for “To the Point with Alex Bell” and ABC10’s broadcast and digital platforms.
  • Work independently or alongside a team on daily news assignments.
  • Operate an IP video-based live unit (Dejero) when assigned.
  • Manage multiple assignments while maintaining strong quality control.
  • Participate in editorial meetings, contribute ideas, and help develop story angles.
  • Use creative production techniques to enhance storytelling.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
