About The Position
Premier HealthCare (PHC), a member of the YAI Network, provides medical, dental, mental health, rehabilitation, and specialty care to individuals with disabilities and their families. PHC is recognized by the U.S. Surgeon General as a national model for health care provision and is certified as a Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home by the National Committee on Quality Assurance. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner performs psychiatric evaluations and provides ongoing medication management. The role includes diagnosing patients, developing and adjusting treatment plans, monitoring medication efficacy and side effects, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, coordinating care with primary care physicians, collaborating with the care team, and completing electronic health record documentation and administrative tasks accurately and promptly. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Compensation is $170,000–$195,000 per year.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with a psychiatric nurse practitioner specialization.
- Current national board certification.
- Valid DEA registration.
- Current New York licensure as an advanced practice nurse.
- BLS certification.
- Active Medicare and New York State Medicaid registration.
- At least 3,600 hours of clinical experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner.
Nice To Haves
- Three or more years of experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner.
- Familiarity with the NextGen EHR.
- Experience with the I/DD patient population.
Responsibilities
- Perform psychiatric evaluations and provide ongoing medication management.
- Determine diagnoses, develop treatment plans, measure progress, and adjust plans as needed.
- Monitor patients to assess medication efficacy and potential side effects.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests.
- Consult with patients’ primary care physicians to coordinate care.
- Partner with other care team members, including nurses, medical assistants, and social workers.
- Complete EHR documentation and administrative tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
