About The Position

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required with medical training through a certificate program or at least 2 years experience as a medical assistant in a clinical setting, (Ex: clinical lab, physician's office, Emergency Medical Tech., etc.).
• Understanding of Medical Terminology required.
• BLS required
• Knowledge of the following equipment: Ultrasound, automated sphygmomanometer, L-Dex machine, wheel chair, and thermometers.
• Knowledge of scheduling for diagnostic tests/lab orders.
• Organizational skills.
• Oral and written communication and computer skills.
• Customer services skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, visitors, and coworkers.
• Ability to show proficiency by passing all written and clinical test.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in one of the following areas is preferred- LPN, Lab, Radiology, Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Physician Office, Scrub Tech.
• CMA or RMA preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient care in a prompt and professional manner
• Assist in delivery of patient education
• Responsible for communication of patient information to and from physician
• Assume various job tasks as assigned
• Responsible for direct, individualized, goal-directed patient care under the supervision of Physician
• Responsible for scrubbing on surgical procedures and knowledgeable of the principles of aseptic technique and sterilization
• Perform a variety of tasks such as care of instruments, supplies, sutures, needles and basic equipment as well as stocking, cleaning and inventory, etc.
• Responsible for scheduling all surgical and endoscopy cases for practice physicians.
