About The Position

The Medical Assistant (Certified) for the Colville Tribal Healthcare Authority provides responsive, high quality health care services that meet the needs of all users at their assigned location. The Medical Assistant (Certified) will perform their job duties in a professional manner while assuring that all the needs of the patients are met with a pleasant demeanor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or similar.
  • HIPAA and Privacy training within 90 days of employment.
  • Blood borne pathogen training annually.
  • CPR/First Aid within initial 90 (ninety) days of hire.
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS) is required.
  • Ability to understand, speak, communicate and read the English language.
  • Ability to perform basic math skills to calculate dosages of medicine.
  • Ability to utilize EHR proficiently.
  • Requires ability to utilize a multi-line telephone with good telephone etiquette.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Well-developed human relation skills to convey technical concepts to others and to give instructions.
  • Ability to communicate technical information and to interact with a wide variety of groups and individuals inside and outside the organization.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work processes in a high-volume environment in order to meet schedules and timelines.
  • Ability to analyze data from multiple information ports by comparing and contrasting data to draw a conclusion or to identify trends.
  • Ability to communicate professionally in written, verbal, and non-verbal format while portraying a friendly tone, word choice, and body language.
  • Ability to take initiative and be proactive in the duties of the position in order to meet mandated deadlines and to comply with goals and objectives.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
  • If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance.
