Oxnard School District is seeking a Health Care Technician to provide health services to students and support their health, safety, and success at school. The position works alongside credentialed school nurses, school administrators, and educational staff. The current vacancy is for 7 hours per day and 183 workdays per year. The eligibility list will remain active for one year and may be used to fill future vacancies during that period. The technician assists students who are ill or injured, observes symptoms and responds to health concerns, and communicates with school nurses, families, and staff. The role also supports students with medical and physical needs, including diabetes management, seizure procedures, and other prescribed health services. Specialized procedures are performed following required training and under the direction of credentialed school nurses. The position maintains confidential student health records and assists with immunization tracking, health screenings, and required reports. This is a dual-certification recruitment open to permanent employees and the public; candidates who pass each examination part are placed on an eligibility list in rank order after applicable promotional credits are added to promotional candidates’ composite test scores.
