About The Position
KAEF is looking for a Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) to join our team in beautiful Eureka, California! We are seeking a curious, driven and creative candidate who is eager to tell impactful stories that matter. The ideal candidate thinks outside the box and elevates their storytelling with compelling visuals and enhanced content on our digital and social platforms. Get your career started off right and take it to where you want to go. Former KRCR alums have gone on to CNN (Boris Sanchez), ESPN/NFL Network (Rich Eisen), and The White House (NBC's Kristen Welker).
Requirements
- Sharp news judgment
- Solid writing & technical skills
- Good communication skills
- Social Media expertise
- Ability to think critically, problem solve, and work well independently
- Experience with live shots is required
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and a good driving record
- A web link to your demo reel must be included with your application
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Live-U is a plus
- A minimum of 1 year of reporting experience is preferred, but new graduates will be considered
Responsibilities
- Research, shoot, write, and edit daily content for various platforms in a manner that is clear and engaging to news consumers
