About The Position

Requirements

• Minimum Class B Commercial Driver's License with air brake qualification.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Prior heavy truck driving experience is mandatory.
• Driving record must conform to the Company's vehicle policy requirements.
• Ability to pass basic training in safety, quality, and maintenance.
• Must be reliable.
• Must have a telephone or other reasonable means of being contacted.
• Ability to provide a negative pre-employment drug screen in accordance with D.O.T. requirements.
• Some mechanical ability to perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections and correct minor deficiencies.

Nice To Haves

• At least 24 months of heavy truck driving experience.
• Ready-mix truck driving or related construction experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and maintain personal safety in accordance with Company, FMCSA, and OSHA policy guidelines.
• Stay informed of applicable D.O.T. rules and regulations and operate within them.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the truck and related equipment for operation and safety.
• Keep the truck in premium operating condition and clean inside and outside by following checkout and cleaning procedures.
• Use sound judgment when setting up equipment at job sites that may be dangerous for the operator, equipment, or other personnel.
• Read and understand delivery tickets, particularly delivery locations and the types and quantities of materials to be delivered.
• Report back to dispatch using proper communication procedures about job status and scheduling.
• Report equipment mechanical problems to the appropriate individuals.
• Perform duties assigned by the plant operator relating to the plant and grounds.
• Perform other assigned duties and operate other vehicles or equipment according to the stated standards.
• Perform duties efficiently and ensure customer satisfaction.
