The Zoological Operations Coordinator maintains the institution’s animal records and associated databases. This role is the expert user of record-keeping software and will be expected to attend annual conferences and maintain direct communication with the software programming team to stay updated with the most recent trends. The coordinator leads onboarding and training for Hosts across departments in record-keeping software use. They execute the annual application and maintenance of the institution’s possession, transport, and collecting permits. This role prepares monthly and quarterly acquisition and disposition reports for internal use and for submission to required regulatory authorities. The coordinator assists in the organization of AZA documents and reports, is heavily involved in accumulating records during accreditation periods and annual edARC reporting, and performs basic chemistry tests as needed under the direction of the Water Quality Lab Manager to maintain consistent water quality records. This position also assists Zoological Team leadership with administrative needs for the department, complies with all safety and security directives, policies, and procedures, and participates in the weekend/holiday rotation as needed. The work schedule is Tuesday to Saturday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with other related duties as assigned.
