About The Position

The Zoo Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining the zoo facilities at the Ararat Ridge Zoo. The Zoo Facilities Technician's duties include habitat upgrades, repairs, maintenance and enrichment builds. The ideal candidate is Passionate about the Answers in Genesis attractions, serving others, enthusiastic, and energetic. Requirements

• Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith.
• Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Regularly attends a local Bible-believing church.
• Ability to bend and lift 50-100 pounds
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• In possession of a valid driver's license
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in construction/ facility maintenance or relevant fields
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Attention to high fit and finish detail

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.
• Create a SERVE culture environment in all work done.
• Approach all tasks with a second mile mindset.
• Prioritize personal integrity in all interactions and assignments.
• Operate hand tools such as saws, drills, etc.
• Operate heavy equipment such as mowers, forklift, skid steer, snowplow, etc.
• Perform needed repairs on guest-facing and back of the house areas of the zoo
• Perform light construction duties to improve habitats
• Assist with inspections and preventive maintenance of zoo facilities
• Coordinate with other departments on projects and needs
• Ability to work safely in a variety of environments and weather conditions
• And all other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
