About The Position

This is a journeyman-level maintenance position responsible for repairing and maintaining buildings and facilities across the Medical University of South Carolina during both peak and non-peak hours. The role involves using hand and power tools to complete a wide range of corrective maintenance tasks within assigned zones, following established trade practices and instructions. Work assignments are issued through the Help Desk, FSC, or Maintenance leadership and are subject to supervision and inspection. Occasional oversight may occur for new tasks. This position is designated as Essential Personnel during disaster situations.

Requirements

• High School Degree or Equivalent
• 3 years of work experience

Responsibilities

• Repairing and maintaining buildings and facilities across the Medical University of South Carolina.
• Using hand and power tools to complete a wide range of corrective maintenance tasks within assigned zones.
• Following established trade practices and instructions.
• Responding to work assignments issued through the Help Desk, FSC, or Maintenance leadership.
• Performing maintenance and repair of buildings and facilities during peak and non-peak hours.
• Maintaining specific zone assignments which covers a variety of corrective maintenance and repairs ranging from minor to extensive.
• Performing all work in accordance with instructions and established trade practices.
• Being considered Essential Personnel in a disaster situation.
