About The Position

This position is responsible for the setup and operation of zinc plating lines. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM, with availability to train on 1st shift (Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM) prior to placement on the 2nd shift. Overtime is available. The role involves continuous part handling, maintaining traceability, and ensuring adherence to process specifications.

  • Ability to read, write, and interpret English to avoid injury to self and others.
  • Must keep supervisor informed of any problems when they occur.
  • Attendance is an essential function of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Follow general instructions of processing specifications and specific instructions on job routers.
  • Maintain accurate records of production and inspection, including log sheets and job routers with all variable processing data recorded.
  • Ensure prompt and proper completion of all required paperwork.
  • Maintain proper handling and integrity of router packets and enclosed information.
  • Handle parts continuously in a manner that preserves part/batch/lot/container traceability.
  • Operate a hoist and forklift.
  • Load and unload work in baskets, barrels, racks, boxes, drums, etc. for processing.
  • Perform post-process dip and dry work, and place work in containers for additional processing and/or shipping.
  • Pre-plan work to ensure time limitations of the process are adhered to and production is maximized.
  • Perform in-process and post-process inspections as required.
  • Adjust process solution working levels (water additions).
  • Make chemical adds to various processing solutions at the direction of laboratory personnel.
  • Assist in mixing and testing solutions.
  • Clean and maintain equipment.
  • Observe various gauges and meters to ensure lines are working properly.
  • Stop the processing line when equipment is not operating properly or the process is out of specification.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment and follow all safety rules, including wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Assist in Utility Duties as needed.
