Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED and up to three months related experience or training in electroplating preferred.
  • Communicate effectively in English (both written and orally) and carry out routine instructions.
  • Ability to work with hands and to work in mechanically oriented situations.
  • Ability to acquire skill in the use of standard equipment and hand tools related to the area of assignment.
  • Ability to operate fork truck, ability to operate draw furnace hoist correctly.
  • Given proper instruction and personal protection safety equipment (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.) safely perform all required tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains hardware and performs various processes to ensure that plating is properly applied to parts.
  • Assist in maintaining scheduled orders at the line, pull parts from storage area as needed.
  • Startup draw ovens; verify temperatures & draw speeds.
  • Add plating solutions & refills tanks as necessary.
  • Follow procedures for chemical additions – follow proper PPE requirements, which include length Nitrile Solve green gloves, face shield and wearing long pants.
  • Process or operate various electroplating, chromate, and or passivate lines.
  • Responsible for inspection of parts to meet quality as outlined by the McGard Quality Standard.
  • Ensure all orders are identified properly, thickness, and post plate requirements are followed.
  • Performs all assigned P.M.’s and daily checklists.
  • Complete department material & supply requisitions as needed.
  • Assist in Inventorying all received chemicals and supplies.
  • Perform department lockout/tagout procedures as necessary.
  • Assist in training new employees.
