About The Position

This role involves providing therapeutic, trauma-informed support to young people with complex needs and behaviours within Life Without Barriers' Child, Youth & Family programs, guided by the CARE model. The Youth Worker will assist young people with daily activities such as school drop-offs and pick-ups, meal preparation, family contact and connection, community access, in-home support, and working towards individual goals. The aim is to build trust, develop skills, and create positive future opportunities for the young people.

Requirements

Hold or be willing to work towards a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (or equivalent).
Have experience working with young people.
Be confident supporting young people with complex behaviours and managing risk.
Hold a valid Full Unrestricted Australian Driver Licence (essential).
Hold a current First Aid Certificate and CPR certification (or be willing to obtain prior to commencement).
Complete the Hope and Healing Framework Foundations prior to commencing (training provided by Life Without Barriers).

Nice To Haves

Experience in residential care is desirable.
Transferable experience from mental health, teaching/childcare, alcohol and other drugs services, youth justice or similar environments is highly valued.

Support young people to participate in decision-making and have a voice in activities and routines.
