Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent with one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in a group setting; or Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a non-social work field with six months of I/DD group-setting experience; or Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Valid New Jersey driver's license.
Ability to successfully complete physical and drug screening, criminal background check, FBI fingerprinting, and child abuse clearances.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with adolescents.
Ability to remain calm and composed during challenging situations.
Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of autism, intellectual, and developmental disabilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide direct care and supervision for up to five residents.
Ensure a safe, supportive, and structured living environment.
Build positive, trusting relationships with residents.
Assist with meal preparation and daily routines.
Transport residents to appointments, school, recreational activities, and community outings.
Encourage independence and healthy life skills.
Assist with implementing individualized treatment plans.
Support residents using positive behavior management techniques.
Collaborate with clinicians and team members to provide consistent care.
Maintain accurate progress notes, incident reports, and resident documentation.
Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and treatment team members.
