Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent with one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in a group setting; or Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a non-social work field with six months of I/DD group-setting experience; or Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Valid New Jersey driver's license.
Successfully complete physical and drug screening, criminal background check, FBI fingerprinting, and child abuse clearances.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with adolescents.
Ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of autism, intellectual, and developmental disabilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide direct care and supervision for up to five residents.
Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured living environment.
Develop positive, professional relationships with residents.
Assist with meal preparation and daily living activities.
Transport residents to appointments, school, recreational activities, and community outings.
Encourage independence and healthy decision-making.
Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans.
Support positive behavior management strategies.
Collaborate with clinicians and team members to ensure consistent therapeutic care.
Complete progress notes, incident reports, and resident documentation accurately.
Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and members of the treatment team.
