Youth Sports Official
About The Position
The Youth Sports Official officiates youth sports programs in accordance with the parameters established by the YMCA of Greater Louisville and supervises practices throughout the season. The role also maintains fields and gyms safely and efficiently, builds positive relationships with program participants, members, and staff, and monitors policies and procedures for programs, volunteers, and staff. The official should have a sincere interest in working with and teaching youth ages 3–14 the principles of sports and Christian values. The position is part-time, requires 10–20 hours per week, and includes weekend availability.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 15.
- Personal commitment to the YMCA mission, philosophy, and character development values; ability to work as a team player.
- Personable, outgoing, and service-oriented.
- Ability to resolve issues or conflicts on the field.
- Excellent oral communication skills.
- Available to work 10–20 hours per week, including weekends.
- Extremely organized, accurate, and proficient.
- Obtain CPR and First Aid certification within the first 90 days.
- Ability to hear, see, and speak.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and jog up and down a field or court.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with youth ages 3–14; training is available for those without experience.
- Athletic background.
